Back in the Bathroom again!

Day 25 out of 30 – The Minimalism Game

Items Discarded:

13 x of various LUSH Skin care products. 1 x body oil container, 1 x retainer box, 5 x makeup application brushes, 1 x grey eyeliner, 2 x lip crayons, 1 x mini eyeshadow pallet, 1 x blush, 1 x spare liquid hand soap, 1 x heat protector glove, 1 x spare lip scrub, 2 x notepads, the 2 sheets from my folio minimising day that I decided to keep but now I’m chucking!
The Why…

Back in the bathroom today and most of my daily throw away involves my collection of empty LUSH beauty product containers.

For those who don’t know, LUSH have an amazing recycling program with their containers. For every 5 containers you collect, if you bring them into their stores, they will give you a free face mask! I’ve been slowly collecting these for about four months now and they were still gathering dust in the back of my bathroom cabinet, even though the collection was well over the minimum 5 containers! I just never made the time to do a face mask, and never remembered to bring my old containers in to the store! So every time I opened my cabinet, I felt awful that they were still hiding there. Useless.

Plus, because of their all natural ingredients (such a bonus!) the masks only last about three weeks. When I got my mask, I only ever end up using it once and felt guilty for wasting an all natural product.

Basically my container collection was causing me more stress then the intended benefit. It’s strange how easily an item can go from having a useful purpose or benefit to then becoming such a strain on the mind and body.

So I won’t save any money on my face mask purchases, but I’ll save the daily guilt-trip and that’s a bargain in my books!
