Mismatched Make-up

Day 3 out of 30 – The Minimalism Game

Items Discarded: 1 x Press Powder Foundation, evil chemicals included. 1 x Red Lip Crayon, with a side of artificial nasties. 1 x Natural BB Cream, about 5 shades to pale.
The Why…

All of this make up has been hibernating in my miscellaneous make-up box under my bathroom sink for over seven months.

I’ve been slowly making the natural change to all my make up and for the classic “just in case” reason, I’ve been holding on to these old beauty products.

The Red lip I had never felt I was “bold” enough to pull off (well, really I wasn’t feeling confident with an “Oh look at me, look at me!”).

The Press powder suited wonderfully until I read the dreaded fine print, dropped the container and snapped the lid of it’s hinges.

The BB cream, felt wonderful but made me to look like a stunned Snow White (in the most unflattering way…)

All three items however do represent the 45-minutes (yes, 45) that I would allow for “make-up” time when ever dressing up for a night out dancing, party or fancy dinner with friends.

I did used to enjoy all the fluffing, but the insecurities that these mismatched and unflattering tools could make my pampering a little stressful.

Simple make-up for me is best. If only I had some pale girlfriends to donate these to, but they all live interstate…

Oh well, to the bin it is then!

  1. Hi Jade! Really enjoyed reading this minimalist series. I could do with doing something similar, I’m moving house in two weeks and have so much clutter. I don’t even know how I ended up with half of it, it’s a nightmare!

      1. I’m really bad at hoarding computer type things, yesterday I cleared out 2 broken monitors, two broken laptops and a perfectly working but OLD computer tower. I put them outside with a note on saying take me and just checked to see if they were gone and they’ve vanished 🙂

      2. Congrats Jacob! That’s awesome! I hope that someone can fix and then enjoy the broken monitors & laptops! But it’s nice at least you can clear your clutter 😀
